This week has been really good. We had many great lessons, and my branch president shared a scripture with me that gave me huge comfort. It's D&C 100:1. It’s God talking to Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon while they were away from their families. Anyway it really helped me cope and feel more comfortable here. I still can't wait to get out of here haha but the Spirit has definitely helped me feel calm and determined.
Anyway besides that our week hasn't really been that different other than helping with the Tours and running into Shayna haha. How is the family doing? How's dad's project coming along?
Oh yeah last night, which was Sunday, we were having our night devotional and we watched Elder Bednar's character of Christ talk he gave which is our second time watching it. We were a bit confused because we were actually asked and required to watch it. After the recording of the talk was over we were all anxious to get to our dorms and sleep, but the MTC workers asked us to stay seated and we were all super confused. Then the big conference room we were in, everybody stood up and we were super confused as to why until we were able to sit down. We all noticed at the same time, all of us meaning over 150 missionaries in one room, that Elder Bednar was actually here at the MTC everybody went crazy! It was so cool. He did a Q and A and everything he said and taught definitely has helped me understand much more about things I already knew.
The MTC isn't all that it's cracked up to be but it is a very spiritual place where we as missionaries grow and learn to become more as Christ is. I wouldn't ever want to go through this again but I would also never want to forget the experience I have had here.
To answer your questions, I fly out of here on the 14th of August and yes I will be able to call you from the airport. The box of goodies you sent have not been eaten entirely but the district has definitely been grateful! I have taken a few pictures I may be able to send some later. So for our exercise time we have here I usually play basketball with my district. The funniest thing that has happened so far would have to be when we were in class and me and one of the other Elders in the district could not stop laughing, we weren't laughing at anything in particular but we just couldn't stop laughing! And I believe I answered the last question with my little story up above.
Let Grandpa, Jay, and Grammy know how much I love them, I miss them all so much.
I love that song (Hercules “Go the Distance”) so much it always helped me realize I can do hard things.
